Departure from Slovenia and flight Ljubljana - Istanbul - Abu Dhabi.

2. dan: torek, 21. 1. 2025 / 11. 2. 2025

Morning flight from Abu Dhabi to Socotra. After arranging all the formalities at the airport, drive to Wadi Ayhaft, where we will explore the canyon and swimm in the natural pool and for the first time come into contact with the unusual flora and fauna of the island (if there is time - depending on the arrival time of the plane to Socotra). Late afternoon drive to Dihamri beach. Camping.

3. dan: sreda, 22. 1. 2025 / 12. 2. 2025

Plaža Dihamri je pravi raj za snorkljanje in uživanje med koralami in pisanimi vrstami rib, zato bomo večji del dopoldneva preživeli prav tu. Za ljubitelje kopnega bo čas za vzpon na bližnji hrib in občudovanje pogleda na severno obalo. Sledila bo vožnja na kraško planoto Momi, kjer se bomo spustili v kanjon Kilissan, raziskovali endemične rastline in živali ter si privoščili plavanje v čudovitih rečnih koritih. Po vzponu nazaj na planoto bomo imeli še nekaj časa za raziskovanje okolice. Vožnja do planote Homhil, večerja in prenočevanje.

4. dan: četrtek, 23. 1. 2025 / 13. 2. 2025

Zjutraj se bomo sprehodili po planoti Homhil, ki velja za naravni botanični vrt otoka, spoznali bomo kadilno bosvelijo (Boswellia sacra), kumarično drevo (Dendrosicyos socotrana), alojo (Aloe perryi), drevesasti mleček (Euphorbia arbuscula), stekleničasto drevo (Adenium obesum subsp. sokotranum) in druge vrste, v koritih potoka, ki vodi do naravnega bazena s pogledom na Arabsko morje, pa bomo opazovali endemične oranžne rakovice (Socotrapotamon socotrensis). Seveda bo obvezen postanek za kopanje v naravnem bazenu, od tam pa se bomo peš spustili v Wadi Shefa do SV obale otoka. Tam nas bodo že čakala vozila, s katerimi se bomo odpeljali do rta Ras Erssel, kjer bomo opazovali stik Arabskega morja in Indijskega ocena. Večerja in prenočevanje na plaži Erher ob izlivu potoka v morje pod snežno belimi sipinami.

5. dan: petek, 24. 1. 2025 / 14. 2. 2025

After breakfast, we will drive to the foot of the hill, where the karst cave Hoq is located, to which it is necessary to climb in 1.5 hours for about 350 m. The cave hides beautiful stalactite structures and a small lake, and extremely interesting archaeological remains were also found in it. From the entrance to the cave, there is a wonderful view of the northern coast of Socotra. During the ascent and descent, we will be able to learn about interesting plant and animal species, and we will also meet interesting species along the northern coast. After lunch, we will drive through Wadi Di Farho to the Nojed plain in the southern part of the island. We will walk along the Zahek dunes, and spend the night in the well-maintained camp Hayf or Amak.

6. dan: sobota, 25. 1. 2025 / 15. 2. 2025

After breakfast, we will visit the salt pans, and then the Degub cave, in which people once lived, and in which there is also a water spring. We will continue the journey north to the Dixam Plateau and through Wadi Dirhur on to the Fermihin Plateau, where a forest of dragon trees thrives. Before dinner, we will visit the locals, learn about their way of life and efforts to preserve endangered tree species, especially boswellia and dragonflies. Camping under dragonflies.

7. dan: nedelja, 26. 1. 2025 / 16. 2. 2025

After breakfast, we first take a short hike through the dragon tree forest and then stop in Wadi Dirham, where we have some time to explore endemic plants and animals. We visit a traditional village and learn about the way of life of the people in this remote area where traditional values are still alive. Later drive to Wadi Dirhur and swim in natural pools. Camping on the Firmihin plateau under the dragon trees.

7. dan: nedelja, 26. 1. 2025 / 16. 2. 2025

After breakfast, you start the hike towards the Haghier mountains. Start at an altitude of approx. 740 m, finish at an altitude of approx. 1480 m, length of the trail: 10 km, walking time: 6-7 hours. During the hike, we get to know various endemic plant and animal species that only thrive in this part of the island due to the higher altitude and greater rainfall. Camping near the highest peak on the island, Skand.

8. dan: ponedeljek, 27. 1. 2025 / 17. 2. 2025

Po zajtrku spet vožnja v Wadi Dirhur in od tam na planoto Dixam, kjer bomo obiskali lokalno šolo in spoznali sokotranski šolski sitem. Sledila bo vožnja na planoto Tohr, kjer se bomo srečali z drugo skupino na skupnem kosilu. Skupaj bomo nadaljevali vožnjo na peščeno plažo Qadama na SZ otoka, kjer bo čas za počitek in kopanje. Kampiranje na plaži Qadama.

8. dan: ponedeljek, 27. 1. 2025 / 17. 2. 2025

Po zajtrku si bomo vzeli nekaj časa za raziskovanje okolice in če bomo imeli srečo z jasnim vremenom, na čudovite razglede divjega gorovja. Sledil bo spust do planote Tohr (9 km, pribl. 500 višinskih metrov spusta, 4-6 ur hoje), kjer nas bodo čakala vozila inas odpeljala na skupno kosilo z drugo skupino. Po skupnem kosilu bomo skupaj nadaljevali vožnjo na peščeno plažo Qadama na SZ otoka, kjer bo čas za počitek in kopanje. Kampiranje na plaži Qadama.

9. dan: torek, 28. 1. 2025 / 18. 2. 2025

After breakfast, we will drive to the village of Ghubba, where we will learn about the local cenotes and ancient salt pans. From there we will continue towards the town of Qalansiya and the nearby Detwah Lagoon, where we will enjoy the beautiful scenery and explore the lagoon with its numerous water birds and sea crabs. After lunch we will visit a local man, Abdulah, who lives in a nearby cave. Together with him we will walk through the lagoon and learn about the marine animals and their way of life. After the visit, you will drive to Qalansiya, where you will have the opportunity to paint yourself with henna and visit a shop with local products. Camping in the Detwah lagoon.

10. dan: sreda, 29. 1. 2025 / 19. 2. 2025

In the morning boat trip to the beach of Schuab. With luck, we will be accompanied on the way by dolphins and many species of birds that nest or feed on marine organisms in this part of the island. Along Schuab beach there are still remnants of mangroves to which we will hike, and then we will have some time for swimming before returning. In the afternoon, we will learn about traditional Socotra music and dance. Overnight stay at Detwah Lagoon.

11. dan: četrtek, 30. 1. 2025 / 20. 2. 2025

After breakfast you have the option of hiking to the summit above the lagoon and exploring the surrounding area, swimming and relaxing in the afternoon. Camping in the Detwah lagoon.

12. dan: petek, 31. 1. 2025 / 21. 2. 2025

After an early breakfast, we drive to the airport and board the Socotra - Abu Dhabi flight after completing all the formalities.

13. dan: sobota, 1. 2. 2025 / 22. 2. 2025

Flight Abu Dhabi – Istanbul – Ljubljana.
